Why it’s important to volunteer
Across fifty different studies on parental engagement, educational researchers found a connection between family involvement and academic achievement, students whose parents are involved in their schooling are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, and adapt well to school.

New volunteers are always welcome by our Committees
Committees consist of members, board members, parents, and teachers all volunteering their time and talent. Below are a few of the committees held by the McAuliffe PTC
Book Fair
Who doesn’t love a good book? This team helps plan two annual Book Fairs; these are always during fall and spring conferences. Scholastic provides all materials needed to have a successful Book Fair and it’s a whole lot of fun! Last Year’s Book Fair generated over $9,000.00 in new books for our school!
Box Tops
This committee promotes Box Top collection, announces new process for collection, communicates how the program benefits our school, and also collects, cuts and counts Box Tops.
Curriculum Enrichment
This Committee researches teacher requests, programs, field trips , speakers, and website memberships in alignment with grade level curriculum and presents information to the membership.
Carnival
This committee is responsible for requesting and obtaining donations for the community and/or McAuliffe families to sponsor carnivals specific activities including Inflatables, face painting, fair hair, nail painting, carnival games, field games, concessions, afternoon deejay, and prizes. The carnival is for students and is held on the last Monday of the school year during the regular school day.
Movie Night Committee
Are you a parent that enjoys movies? This team has a lot of fun as they plan 3 Family Movie Nights. Committee coordinates movie selection, concession sales, volunteers and communications.
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Committee
This team organizes fall & spring conference meals and the Annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon held every May! We love the staff at McAuliffe and this team is key in making sure they know it! No cooking required!
